We all have mental health just as we have physical health, it can move along from good to poor. We spend many hours at work and with the demands of daily life it’s not surprising that, on occasion, you may feel you need support.
At Norcot we are very much a ‘work family’ that brings its benefits of team work and support but also respects diversity (we are not all the same even though we all work at the same place), the right to confidentiality and the time and space to discuss issues that affect you. Your one-to-one meetings are an ideal time to talk but you may feel you just need a ‘go-to’ person to turn to. If this helps, please speak to someone you feel comfortable with. Time to talk may need to be scheduled so please just let someone know 😊
Please remember that SLT will need to know of any major issues that affect your health, wellbeing and ability to do your job – we are here to support you.
Reading Borough Council have an excellent support package available to all staff and their families. If needed, please contact the Employee Assistance Programme details of how to access can be given by your line manager and are in our fortnightly SMT minutes
This handbook is designed both to introduce Norcot Early Years Centre to you and to be of continuing use during your employment.
A staff handbook will never replace face-to-face communication so please speak to us whenever you have any questions.
Each building has a Norcot family photo board so please take a few minutes to have a look and familiarise yourself with names of your colleagues and everyone at Norcot. Don’t worry about remembering names straight away….just ask 😊
