Clerk to Governors – Norcot Early Years Centre

RG4b (SCP 11-17) - £13.47 - £14.91 per hour


Norcot Early Years Centre is seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic individual to join the team as a part time Clerk to Governors to work on average 3 hours per week (term time only).
 
Located in Tilehurst in Reading, Norcot Early Years Centre is a vibrant and inclusive learning environment dedicated to providing high-quality education and care for children aged 0-5 years.

As the Clerk to Governors you will contribute to the efficient and effective function of the Governing board and its committees by:

• Providing efficient, reliable and confidential service to the Governing Body and committees

• To advise the Governing Body on constitutional matters and procedures for school governance.

• Managing information effectively in accordance with legal requirements


Applicants must demonstrate flexibility in their approach to the role as there is no fixed pattern of working hours. Meetings are scheduled for Tuesday mornings at 9:15am, but all preparation before and after meetings is expected to be completed remotely from home. A laptop and access to necessary data will be provided for the role.

Requirements:

• Experience of clerking/Minute taking

• Knowledge of Governance and legislative requirements relevant to a school

• Working knowledge of Microsoft Word/Excel/Outlook/Internet
 
There will be a transitional period during which the current Clerk will facilitate the handover of the role, ensuring that all responsibilities are properly conveyed and relevant training is provided.
 



Level 3 Early Years Practitioner

(NVQ Level 3 or equivalent in Childcare and Education) 

 

RG3 SCP 5-7 £21,575 – £22,369 (pro-rata for term time only)

*RG3 SCP 8-11 £22,777 - £24,054 (pro-rata for term time only)

*(above the gateway if gateway progression achieved)  Pay Award Pending

 

(Successful candidates will normally start at the first point of the grade to which they are appointed) 

 

The post is permanent, Term-time only plus Inset days

35 hrs per week –           8am to 5pm Monday

                                               8am to 3.45pm Tuesday to Friday

Due to expansion of the Centre with an additional Resource Base for children with additional needs, we are looking for an enthusiastic Level 3 qualified Early Years Practitioner to join the team in our Ofsted rated Outstanding Nursery School.

 

The successful candidate will:

  • Have a good working knowledge of the revised EYFS and demonstrate a commitment to providing childcare in a non-discriminatory and inclusive manner.
  • Have experience of working with SEND children or have an interest in working with SEND children.
  • Have experience of working with children aged 2 to 4 years old and in the delivery of high quality childcare and education.
  • Be creative, dynamic and a good communicator and be a team player.
  • Have a flexible approach to your work with a warm, caring attitude.
